The Asbestos Awareness Initial training course provides basic information on working with or around asbestos.
This course is required by OSHA and AHERA for employees who are likely to be exposed to asbestos or for all
employees who perform asbestos work. Information covered includes:

Methods of recognizing asbestos
Health effects associated with asbestos exposure
Relationship between smoking and asbestos in producing lung cancer
The nature of operations that could result in exposure to asbestos
Engineering and work practice controls
Housekeeping, decontamination, emergency and waste disposal procedures
Respiratory protection and medical surveillance requirements
